THE OPPORTUNITY
As human society becomes subject to more
and more information overload, the prescribed
response has been to create higher and higher
levels of specialization. Human beings have
become compartmentalized and subdivided -
and our individual aspirations increasingly
limited within ever narrowing parameters.
With the greater reach of information
technology, and with our gathering insights
into the mechanics of the universe, this is
about to change...
The new generation of humans is capable of
grasping the critical nature of our existence
here on planet earth. To do so we must
appreciate the multiple stages that we morph
through in our quest for self development. No
longer is a virtual 'caste' system necessary to
say who can (and cannot) do what. Within
ourselves we now discover the full potential of
being human - our critical metamorphosis from
the merely living to a much more fulfilling
existence bordering on the Divine! This is the
great awakening, and all humans are equally a
part of it...
Visually we can think of the upcoming
transformation as the tale of two spirals.
The first spiral is our biological DNA which is
largely responsible for bringing humanity to its
current capabilities. The second is the spiral of
Divinity, expressed as the ongoing rotation of
the Tao Cycle over higher and higher levels of
existence.
To bridge between the two, we need to build
up our Cultural DNA - those pieces of shared
knowledge that differentiates modern humans
from our cavemen forebears. It is by building
up this knowledge, these gems of existential
wisdom about the nature of our human
existence, that we can reach our potential -
individually and also collectively as the Human
Civilization.
The Tao Cycle philosophy, upon which this
book is based, is a melding of the Eastern
'cyclic' interpretation of nature with the more
Western 'one-way' arrow of development. For
its part, the 'Law of Attraction' plays an
essential role in how the Universe responds to
the aspirations of the Human. In this book we
move on to the timeless nature of the
relationship between the Aspiring Human and
the Inspiring Universe, and 'why' the
opportunity we face at our current juncture of
civilization is so monumental in its scope.
The philosophy presented here, and intended to
be developed further in the Aspiring Human
series, reveals the hidden mechanics of
self-development. It clearly demarcates the
transitions we must go through as we reach
for a measure of Divinity in our daily lives. This
book is dedicated to the Aspiring Human -
those amongst us with a keen desire for
self-improvement. It is also intended to provide
a spiritual framework within which people of
all philosophical backgrounds could work
together - as we hope to bridge our human
influence onward to other planets, to the stars,
and possibly far beyond...
WHAT WE RISK WITH THE STATUS QUO:
The Tao Cycle has four nodes that form the
Aspirational Trajectory for Humans. The nodes
are:
1. Individuality / self-sufficiency
2. Affluence (economic sufficiency)
3. Universality (Yogic Empathy)
4. Germinal (Spiritual Metamorphosis)
Much of humanity still struggles with
developing their Individuality - especially when
it comes to education and skill building. Some
societies are able to move beyond Individuality,
to Affluence, but the relative percentage of
earth's population that get there is still very
miniscule.
THESE TWO NODES - WE HUMANS SHARE WITH
ALL ANIMALS THAT TAKE CARE OF THEIR
YOUNG!!
What sets us Humans apart is the potential to
move purposefully on to the nodes of
Universality (needed for real peace), and then
on to the Germinal node (needed to really
change our civilization into a level of Divinity).
THIS POTENTIAL IS HIGHLY UNDER-UTILIZED.
If the human mindset and the values that we
worship (e.g. popular entertainment themes)
are stuck at the Individuality and Affluence
nodes; cultural, political and economic wars
will rage on - dividing humanity - and sapping
its onward progress.
The real reward, individually as well as
collectively, is for us to move in ever greater
numbers towards Universality and subsequently
metamorphose ourselves into a civilization of
cosmic proportions (via the Germinal Node).
The Spirituality that we need to achieve the
last goal is nothing more than the ability to
deal with possibilities verging on the infinite.
This no longer remains the sole purview of
religious aristocrats...
